Koch Industries Launches Digital Video Campaign Focusing on the Importance of Free Trade Amid Talks of Tariffs

July 26, 2018

WICHITA, Kan. – Koch Industries today has released a video campaign advocating for free trade amid an ongoing national discussion on the merits of tariffs and other barriers to free and open trade.

The video, available here, communicates the importance of free trade and its effect on all Americans.

“Trade is about everyone bringing their unique strengths to the table to help everyone else through the free and open exchange of ideas and knowledge and innovation in a friendly neighborhood and global competition that uplifts everyone,” the video explains. “That’s mutual benefit win-win moments that give everyone the opportunity to make life better.”

This video is the first in a series that will illuminate the complex but critical issues facing our society and illustrate how the principles of equal rights and mutual benefit form the basis for all of Koch Industries’ positions. A six-figure digital ad buy will support this series throughout the rest of 2018.

“We support policies that are to the long-term benefit of society and others, and we oppose those that are not, even those that benefit our bottom line,” said Steve Lombardo, chief communications officer for Koch Industries. “Free trade is a win-win, for individuals, families, communities, and the country.”

Based in Wichita, Kansas, Koch Industries is one of the largest private companies in America, with estimated annual revenues as high as $100 billion, according to Forbes. Koch companies manufacture a wide variety of products, including transportation fuels, building and consumer products, electronics, fibers, fertilizers, membrane filtration and pollution control systems. With a presence in 60 countries, Koch companies employ nearly 120,000 people worldwide, with about 70,000 of those in the United States. Since January 2009, Koch companies have earned more than 1,300 awards for safety, environmental excellence, community stewardship, innovation, and customer service.
